But look for a production version sometime later this year and a full on sale date of 2019. We don't know when the car will actually hit the market, and this is just a concept. But Toyota's hoping that enthusiasm carries over to this new one and sales will be strong as soon as this hits the market. So as much nostalgic love as there is around the Supra, the car was originally killed off because of slow sales. For that reason, we estimate that it will probably be powered by a turbo charged inline 6. What we do know is that Toyota partnered with BMW, so this car actually shares a lot of parts with the upcoming BMW Z4. We don't know what transmission it's going to use. We don't know what's going to be under the hood. Outside of the appearance, we really don't have that many details. But this is as close to a production version as you're likely to see before the full review.

The final production model may still be a ways off, but the GR Supra Concept will be available in "Gran Turismo Sport" starting in April. The Toyota GR Supra Concept might be a focused, track-prepped race car, but Toyota is making no secret that this heralds the return of the production car to showrooms. After years of teasers, spy shots and faint whispers, the fifth-generation Toyota Supra finally makes its debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The final production car won't look much different.
